Lock in Your Summer Experience “What I Did This Summer”

Remember the dreaded essay at the beginning of the school year? It has a new purpose

and it is more important than ever. Time to write your own What I Did This Summer notes.

When you look back on the summer of 2021, in 6 months, or 3 years what will you see?

What do you want to see?

How did you impact your own life and future with how you spent the past 90 days?

Living life means beginnings and endings every day, big or small. It’s the small ones that can go unnoticed at the time while creating who you become. Regardless of where you are right now, you are always ‘becoming’ the next version of yourself.

Fun, sun, family, adventures, time outside, time on the water, quiet time in my beautiful yard and garden. I want to hold on to the things I loved about this summer. I also want to appreciate that as I got stronger and more in touch with the people and things that matter most to me, my roots got deeper, wider, preparing me for continual growth.

Summer 2021

Simple moments, great people, quite time and lots of sunshine have filled this summer for me.

Great clients who let me lead them through big challenges and massive breakthroughs have made me a better coach. Working remotely has connected me with strong, amazing women in business from around the world and opened new doors through tough conversations and unexpected opportunities.

Living life brings beginnings and endings every day, small and big. It’s the small ones that may go unnoticed at the time that will create who you become. Regardless of who you are, you are always ‘becoming’ the next version of yourself.

Ideas to Take into the Future

If you know me, you have heard me say “there is so much more”. I want to look at the summer of 2021 and know that I took a step in to ‘so much more’. I took risks, tried new things, spoke up when it mattered and kept quiet when it mattered even more.

Looking back on this summer I want to see a lot that a lot of good things starter here

  • richer connection and commitment to the people and ideas that matter to me

  • deeper believe in my own ability to create the next chapter in my life and in my business

  • greater confidence in myself

  • fiercer trust in others

  • new ideas that are just now beginning to germinate that will support more women in business to achieve their own breakthroughs

Things to Leave Behind

Change has become a constant companion for most of us. For every change experienced, we get something, and we leave something. I hope I see that this summer I began to let go of:

  • Doubt seeking assurance from outside rather than from my own knowing

  • Fear stopping progress

  • Striving at the expense of experiencing

  • Worry that gets in the way of living each day to the fullest

  • Busyness that masks growth

We build the future on our past. When I look back on the summer of 2021, I want to see beginnings and the endings that made me a better mom, wife, grandma, friend, a better coach, a better business owner, A better me.
